Proposal Update

As I mentioned on my blog some time ago, I have been approved to become the President of the Norfolk Chapter of He Intends Victory, a Christian ministry to those affected by HIV/AIDS. As a result of this privilege I have been working closely with other He Intends Victory team members in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area to bring a proposal to Hampton High School. This proposal will be brought to the school principal on June 19, 2008 at 1 PM. The proposal basically outlines a plan to present HIV/AIDS awareness to the student body sometime during the 2008-2009 school year. Please be in prayer for this meeting. I will have more details on these events as I am able to reveal them.

Missions Trip to Africa

I have been asked to attend a short term missions trip to Africa in January 2009. This missions trip is a three-week long trip that will have the team going to Uganda and Ethiopia. While there we will be working closely with those affected by HIV/AIDS including many children that have been orphaned as a result of this terrible virus. As some of you know, sub-Saharan Africa has the largest number of HIV/AIDS cases on the planet numbering around 22.5 million cases which is two-thirds of the number of HIV/AIDS cases reported globally. The children have suffered the most from this deadly virus where in sub-Saharan Africa 11.4 million of the 15 million HIV/AIDS orphaned children worldwide live. The gospel of Jesus Christ is most desperately needed in this area of the world and God has presented this ministry with open avenues upon which to bring the love and peace that only Christ can bring.

This trip is not free. There are plane fares, food, lodging expenses and other such things that will need to be secured prior to me going on this mission trip. Would you be willing to help?
