Insecurity: Cross River Government Pledges Stronger Partnership With Nigerian Army

The Cross River State government says they will continue to partner with security agents to ensure that they carry out their duties effectively. 

The pledge was made when the Special Adviser on General Duties, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba visited the Commander, 13 Brigade, Gen E.I Okoro in Calabar. 

“We are here to first if all appreciate you, your officers and men for the maximum support shown to the state. Within the past few months, Cross Riverians have seen that security situation in the state has greatly improved. This is dew to the massive work men of the Nigerian army have put in and to an extent some paying the supreme price.

“The governor is very excited with what you are doing and why we are here is just to further encourage you to do more and continue to keep the state safe. We also want to pledge our support to assist in whatever way possible. 

Barr Akiba who also made the case for a robust relationship between the state government and the Nigerian army to ensure that the state quota in recruitment process into the force is filled, said this was important so as to open up opportunities for young Cross Riverians who desire to pursue their career in the military.

I’m a similar vein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on General Duties also paid a visit to the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp, Abdulahi Hassan at his office in Calabar, pledging the state government’s support to ensure that road accidents within the state ia greatly minimized. 

He implored the leadership of the Corp to always prioritize young Cross Riverians whenever employment opportunity arises.
