World Athletics Championships: Nathaniel, Uko and Usoro makes debuts as AFN picks 22 Athletes.

The new national 400m hurdles record holder, Ezekiel Nathaniel, World U20 champion, Imaobong Nse Uko and the National triple jump champion Ruth Usoro will be making their debuts at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, United State of America from July 15, 2022.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria, (AFN) has released a 22 man-list with Ese Brume (long jump) and Tobi Amusan (sprint hurdler) as Nigerian Athletes leading team Nigeria for the championship.

Eze Brume, who won a bronze medal in Doha, Qatar, three years ago will be aiming to become the first Nigeria athlete to see two medals at a World Championship.
Tobi Amusan will also be seeking to become the second Nigerian hurdler to win a medal at the Championship after Glory Alozie, won a silver medal in Seville, Spain in 1999.
Shot putter Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, who placed eighth in 2019 in Doha, Qatar as well as Favour Ofili, (sprinter) who made it to the semis in the 400m even on her debut three year ago.
Others selected are sprinters Rosemary Chukwuma, Grace Nwokocha, Nigeria’s faster man, Favour Ashe, Udodi Onwuzurike and reigning African Games champion, Raymond Ekevwo, will compete in the 100m event.

Patience Okon-George, Knowledge Omovoh, Dubem Amene, Samson Nathaniel, and Sikiru Adeyemi will compete in the 4x400m mixed relay.
Chioma Onyekwere and Sade Olatoye will compete in the Hammer and Discus throws. Godson Brume and Ushoritse will compete in the 4 x 100m. women’s 4 x 100m, will see Joy Udo also in the race.
Coaches picked are Gabriel Okon, Kayode Yaya, Esabunor Mavuah and Ken Onuaguluchi.
