A former military administrator of Rivers State, Brig. Gen. Anthony Ukpo is dead.
The former military general reportedly died at his hospital, Asi Ukpo diagnostic and medical center in Calabar. At the time of this report, the cause of his death was not made known, but according to reliable sources, it may not be unconnected with covid-19.
The Yala born former general was the military administrator of Rivers State between August 1986 and July 1988.
After his retirement from the military, Gen. Ugbo ventured into the hospitality industry, setting up hotels in Calabar, Port Harcourt and other cities. In 2013 he set up Asi Ukpo diagnostic and medical center in Calabar. A comprehensive health care facility providing first class health care services to Cross Riverian.
