Prince Otu/Odey Support Organization (POOSO), a political support group for the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate in Cross River State has called on security operatives, INEC and other stakeholders in the electoral process to rise to the occasion of ensuring that those who commits electoral offences are prosecuted no matter how highly placed they are.
The group made expressed their concerns during an interaction with newsmen in Calabar.
Speaking, State secretary of the group, Chief Edwin Ussang expressed disappointment over the comments attributed to the senator representing Cross River central, who is also the governorship candidate of the PDP in the March 18th 2023.
“What Sen. Onor’s campaign has attempted to achieve is to distort this long sense of history of unity, brotherliness and affinity between brothers through a jaundice political consideration. Truly, Prof. Sandy Onor only attempts to foist on Cross River State
The group decried what it calls a dangerous infusion of ethnicity and violence into the political campaigns of Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sandy Onor. “seeds of discord and hatred which Sen. Onor’s style (of) politics have never led any society to sustainable peace and development but of backwardness, underdevelopment and the attendant disintegration” the statement reads
The group also called on security agents to immediately arrest some PDP agents who are bent on frustrating the election by causing violence.
“On this note, we call on security agencies in the state to investigate cases of violent threats and plots by the PDP and their army of brigands/thugs to unleash violence during the elections especially in the APC stronghold across the state ostensibly to disrupt the process and stop the victory of our party. Security agencies are also urge to bring perpetrators of such evil plots to book ni matter how highly places”
