The Cross River State conference of Nigeria Political Parties CNPP has passed a vote of no confidence on its Chairman Mr Patrick Ally and one Bishop Castro Ezama over misappropriation of palliative allocated to it by the Cross River State Government.
In a communique at a meeting held on Thursday, November 2, 2023, the conference appointed Mr Odung Michael in a acting Chairman capacity pending the intervention of the National Secretary or when an election is conducted.
According to the Communique, it resolved and “call on the National Secretary of CNPP Chief Willy Ezeugwu to as a matter of urgency intervene, noting that the members of CNPP in Cross River State, having maintained their earlier position, would not be part of any fraudulent leadership by any person or group of persons that delights in cheating and embezzling the common wealth of the entire members by reason of greed, deception and self-serving nature.
The group also stated that Ndabu Bassey Edet Okon stands suspended from CNPP Cross River State Chapter for issuing ceaseless derogatory words and serial threats to the acting Chairman Pastor Odung Micheal and other members of CNPP who stood for what is right.
The Communique further reaffirmed it total support to Pastor Odung Michael the acting Chairman, as agreed by majority of the members of CNPP in Cross River State, adding that it would extend same support to Governor Otu’s administration where necessary.
They Further called on the government of Cross River State to only recognize, synergize and collaborate or as the case may be, with Pastor Odung Michael’s led leadership who is the appointed and accepted acting Chairman of CNPP, pending when election is conducted.
The group made it clear that it Chapter of CNPP will not condone nor embrace any fraudulent, ill-mannered and dubious personality in it affairs, other than purposed inputs, quality leadership, good moral values and deliberate efforts that will enhance the system, birth harmony, peaceful co-existence and a dynamic political environment for a more viable CNPP in the state towards a better Cross River State and Nigeria at large.
