The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) today commenced the sale of form for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB also announced that Persons Living With Disability who wish to sit for the 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination can register at no cost.
The JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this while rolling out the registration process for interested candidates across the country.
Oloyede said JAMB will issue free application documents to all categories of Persons Living With Disability as a form of support.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, the spokesperson of JAMB, had announced last year that the sales of forms would commence on 15th January till 26th February 2024.
Similarly, 7th March 2024, has been slated for the 2024 mock UTME, and the main UTME is also expected to hold from 19th to 29th April 2024. Candidates are expected to print their examination slips as of 10th April 2024.
Fabian had advised candidates interested in the 2024 UTME to endeavour to take note of the dates and other advisories that might be issued by the Board in relation to the administration of the examination, or they could visit the Board’s website @www.jamb gov.ng for other relevant information regarding the 2024 UTME exercise.
JAMB while noting that the cost of UTME application was not reviewed upward, the Board explained that ”Rather, some charges, including Computer Based Test (CBT) centre charges and other ones, that were hitherto paid by candidates to the third parties, were added to the cost of the UTME which raised the figure.”
In the breakdown of the cost that was provided, JAMB explained that the cost of 2024 UTME and Direct Entry was N3,500; reading the text was free; UTME/DE CBT registration fee was N700; CBT examination service charge N1,500; bringing the grand total (without mock) to N6,200 for the UTME/DE candidates.
Candidates for the exams interested in the 2024 mock UTME would be expected to pay an N1,700 additional fee as a CBT mock UTME centre charge, which made the cost rise to N7,700. Then N500 bank charge is applicable to all charges.
