The political class, business men, religious leaders, young people within and outside Cross River State’ on Thursday 7th, march 2024, gathered in the calabar home of Obol Hon. (Dr) Godwin Ettah to blithely celebrate with him on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.
Obol. Godwin Ettah was Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area, State secretary of People’s Democratic party (PDP) in Cross River State, Commissioner for Education, Commissioner for water resources and immediate past commissioner for finance in Cross River State.
Several guests who poured encomium on the celebrant, described him as iconic, humane and munificent, further said Obol Godwin Ettah’ over the past decades has shouldered enormous responsibilities that add to society development, including the improvement of humanity through identifying and developing talents, empowered people with jobs in the public Civil service and private sectors , established businesses for people, helped to develop ideas and visions of people, paid and is still paying bills of known and unknown people to him, and is still empowering people in diverse ways. added that as an astute administrator, Obol Godwin Ettah brings refinement to every political and administrative office he has served in, right from his days as Chairman of Yakurr Local Government, secretary of party, to the period’s in which he served as Commissioner for Education, water resources and finance in Cross River State.
In an exhilarate mood, Obol Godwin Ettah offered thanks to God for the opportunity of his birth as it is the most reason for why they are all gathered to celebrate. He also Expressed his deep appreciation to the guests for finding him worthy to share their goodwill of coming out to celebrate with him on a special day of his, described them as a family he passionately treasure.
He preached love, transparency, togetherness , forbearance and patience to the people, emphacised on the need for them to live their lives with maintaining good relationships that are beyond politics, as people should not be gathered only for political reasons but rather for the purpose of rendering service to humanity, sharing of love as a family and adding value to the lives of each other irrespective of where they are coming from.
Spotlight of the event was Prayers, singing of birthday songs, testimonies on the lifestyle and achievements of the celebrant, cutting of birthday cake, exchange of pleasantries, music and dance session, which wrapped the event with splendour.
