Following the ongoing debate on the Cross River State Government proposed Rent Control Law that has sparked widespread discussions on social media, the majority has supported the idea of enacting the law,

In a questionnaire gathered, A small percentage attribute the exorbitant rent prices to the high cost of building materials, while others suggest that the government should initiate a social housing scheme to make housing more affordable for its citizens.

Making his contribution, Hon. Stanley Boyce Nsemo, the member representing Calabar Municipality LGA in the Cross River State House of Assembly, noted that the issue is already being deliberated in parliament.

He also encouraged the public to send suggestions and inputs to his office or via his Facebook inbox.

Additionally, the The Guru Foundation is conducting a large scale survey to further support discussions on this issue.
