The University of Cross River State Management has announced a two-week break for the First Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Session, commencing on Thursday, 13th February 2025.
In a press release signed by the registrar, Mr Victor Ene, dated February 13, 2025, states that the management sincerely regrets the break at this time; however, it has become unavoidable due to circumstances beyond its control.
The release urged students to note that “The First Semester examinations, which were not taken before the break, will commence immediately upon resumption for the Second Semester.
“All students are required to vacate their hostels on or before Saturday, 15th February 2025.
“Students are encouraged to use this period to finalize their preparation for the forthcoming examinations.
“Students who have not paid their school fees should use this period to clear their indebtedness to enable them participate in the examinations.
“Management appreciates the patience and understanding of all students and staff in this regard and regrets any inconveniences caused.” The statement added.
The Parchment gathered that the first semester exams which was earlier scheduled for January, 2025 was suspended due to dispute by the four labour unions in the university – SSANU, NASU, NAAT, and ASUU, demanding for the implementation of new minimum age and consequential salary adjustment from the management.
