Abia govt announces restoration of accreditation to Poly by NBTE

The Abia State Government has announced that the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) has restored the accreditation of Abia State Polytechnic Aba.

The commissioner of information and strategy Barrister Eze Chikamnayo announced this to newsmen on Wednesday.

The NBTE had earlier withdrawn the institution's accreditation over it's inability to pay it's staff over 30months arrears of salary and allowances.

Spokesperson of NBTE, Fatima Abubakar said the decision of the board to withdraw Abia Poly's accreditation was to safeguard the quality assurance mechanism of the board.

The worrisome development was frowned at by well meaning citizens of the state as it was considered a total disregard for the welfare of students and stakeholders of the institution.

However, the state commissioner for information and strategy stated that the restoration of the institution's accreditation was made possible due to the fact that the welfare of Abia State citizens has always been top priority and this is without an iota of doubt.
