Governor Ben Ayade has relaxed the 10pm to 6am curfew imposed in the state.
The governor’s chief press secretary and special adviser on media, Christian Ita said in a statement released on Monday.
According to the statement, the relaxation was necessary after a review of security situation the state.
“consequently, restriction of movement is now between the hours of 12 midnight and 6am with effect from today, Monday 2nd of August 2021” the statement read.
It advised members of the public to go about their businesses between the hours of 6am to 12midnight.
Soon after the October 2020 Endsars protest that left Calabar the state capital in shatters, the state government had initially imposed a 6pm to 6am curfew in the state.
The curfew was later relaxed between the hours of 10pm and 6am.
