Ahead of the International Women’s Day, 2022, coming up March 8, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo has been nominated for inclusion in the annual biographical compendium that profiles 100 outstanding women in Nigeria, “Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women”
She will join other women whose transformational and innovative ideas help to shape society such as the globally acclaimed literary genius, Chimamanda Adichie; the founder & Chief Responsibility Officer of Ruff ‘n’ Tumble, Mrs. Adenike Ogunlesi; the Chairman, Board of NNPC, Senator Margary Okadigbo; the DG,NAFDAC – Prof. Moji Christianah Adeyeye, and the Country Director of Actionaid, Ene Obi among others
The Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women is an annual qualitative profiling of phenomenal women in Nigeria who have contributed to the development of Nigeria and the world.
Now in its fourth year, the Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women is a gender-specific biographical compendium that responds to existing gender gaps in Nigeria biographical documentation and leadership.
The debut edition was published in partnership with The Guardian Newspaper March 8, 2018 while this year’s edition will be published as a book.
This year’s list includes innovators, barrier-breakers, activists, top bureaucrats, captains of industry, and celebrities. These are women who may have less fame but great force, in the power of their transformational ideas, innovation, scale of their ambitions and their ingenuity in providing solutions societal problems.
This biographical compendium, jointly put together by Profiles & Biographies in collaboration with Gender Perspective, captures stories of women that are meant to inspire women and men to accomplish more in life.
Profiles & Biographies and Gender Perspective have carefully selected these outstanding and Nigerian women who have overcome limitations to attain extraordinary heights while contributing to shaping and developing our dear country, Nigeria.
This annual biographical compendium that explores the intersection of accomplishment and impact of distinguished Nigerian women, would be published March 8, 2022as part of the activities to mark the International Women’s Day.
The 2021 edition of the compendium profiled the DG, WTO, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the former Minister for Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; and the Wife of the General Overseer, Pastor Folu Adeboye among other prominent Nigerian women.
