In a rare show of leadership, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu, today had a closed door meeting with gubernatorial aspirants of the party in Calabar.
The meeting which took place at the residence of Arc. Bassey Eyo Ndem is seen as a major move to further unite all the aspirants after Sen. (Prince) Bassey Otu emerged as the consensus and later victorious candidate of the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
Some of the aspirants who attended the meeting were, Arc. Bassey E.Ndem, Barr. Edem E. Ekong, Mr. Sylvester Nsa, Hon. George O’ben Eche, Chief Ogban Ebock and Hon.Egwu Arong Egwu.
Speaking after the meeting, Barr. Edem Ekong described the meeting as “in house discussion among friends and brothers”
“we all aspired together and at the end Sen. Prince Bassey Otu the sweetest prince was picked. It was by the agreement and consent of everybody. So today was touching base. There was never a division. Today was just sitting down as brothers and friends to discuss and getting ready for the work ahead. For us here, we don’t need much of that reconciliation. it was nothing too special.
“I am not sure of any aspirant from the southern senatorial district who is not part of us, those who are not here are unavoidably absent so there is nothing much”
Sen. Bassey Otu who enjoys massive followership across the state is highly tipped to emerge winner at the forthcoming 2023 governorship polls.
