Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. Praises Gov. Ben Ayade, Awards Scholarship To Indigent Students In Odot Community.

The Cross River State commissioner for finance, Hon Asuquo Ekpenyong Jnr. today awarded scholarship to several students of Odot Ediong sScondary Commercial school, Obio Asim in Odukpani local government area.

Hon. Ekpenyong made the pronouncement at an inter-house sports competition hosted by the school at the school compound.

The finance commissioner who showered praises on governor Ben Ayade for his developmental strides in the educational sector of the state, encouraged students to strive for the best and be inspired by the leadership qualities of the governor.

According to Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong who was represented by a special assistant to the governor, Hon. Ayi Inyang, “Let me use this opportunity to announce a scholarship award for 25 students of this great school with immediate effect. It is my believe that this will inspire them to aim higher and for greater responsibility in their academic pursuit and sports development” he said.

At the end of the competition, Red house named after the commissioner for finance Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong (SUKI house) emerged overall winners, defeating Green, Blue and Yellow houses.

Earlier, the school Principal, Mrs. Magdalene Iso expressed gratitude to guests and students for making the event a success, while thanking the finance commissioner for his immense contribution and huge financial support for the school over the years.

The event witnessed a large number of political support groups for Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong led by a Special Assistant to the governor, Hon. Ayi Inyang.
