Ayade’s Aide Disassociates From Purported Endorsement Of Asuquo Ekpenyong.

By Our Reporter

An aide to governor Ben Ayade, Chief Asuquo Asibong, aka Sabata, has the purported endorsement of a governorship aspirant, Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong.

Chief Asibong who is a member of the state Judicial Service commission, spoke with our reporter, Saturday evening. He said not only was he embarrassed by the said open letter purported to have emanated from him and others, but has also drawn the attention of his lawyers to the publication for necessary action.

“I saw the said endorsement the way other every other people saw it. I was shocked not only at the length of political desperation by some people but also to tarnish ones image.

The fact is that in 2019, we were 18 of us in that security committee set up by the governor. As I speak with you, 6 are still with the PDP, while 12 of us left for the APC. So if they said 18 of us, does it mean that those in the PDP also joined us to endorse someone from a different political party? That is to show you that such publication is a lie from the pit of hell. To start with, I was not even the chairman of that committee, it was Hon. Okon Onwuna that was the chairman, so you see that the evil plotters did not do their homework well.

Chief Asibong wondered how he would have endorsed anyone when the state governor has not come out openly to do that. “I am loyal to the governor, because he is my boss and leader and my allegiance is to him” he said.

According to Chief Asibong, he has already directed his lawyer to speed up the process of taking legal steps to redeem his public image, already dented by that publication. He also said he has never met the originator of the fake open letter.

A Facebook user that goes by the name, Eniang Offiong had circulated an open letter, purported to have emanated from the Forum of Former LG security Committee set up by the state governor, Ben Ayade in 2019 and signed by Chief Asuquo Asibong as chairman and Barr. Iwasam Adaga as secretary.
