The management of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has dismissed Oladipupo Siwajuola, a student who was previously reported as “missing”.
In a statement released on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, by Dr. Joshua Suleiman, the institution’s Director of Marketing and Communication, revealed that a thorough investigation led to Oladipupo’s expulsion.
The investigation uncovered series of serious infractions, including impersonation, drug peddling, and involvement in occult practices linked to internet fraud rituals, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo Plus.”
According to the university, Oladipupo left the campus on April 28, 2025, disguised in a hoodie, exiting through the university’s teaching hospital gate without proper authorization.
“This contradicts his mother’s earlier claims that he had been abducted and was later “found” by friends from his secondary school.
The university disclosed that Oladipupo had actually been staying in Lagos with a friend named Sodiq. His presence there was reportedly discovered by Sodiq’s mother, who returned him to his family after learning about the online drama surrounding his disappearance.
“Upon returning to school on May 15, accompanied by his father, Oladipupo voluntarily provided a detailed statement to the university’s Security Services Department. This statement was later corroborated in front of the Disciplinary Committee.
The university stated that Oladipupo admitted to purchasing and using fetish substances from a traditional herbalist for nearly ₦100,000. This contradicted his mother’s assertion that she had given him the black soap for a skin condition.
According to the university authority, his infractions included: Peddling illicit drugs on campus, which led to his apprehension by university security prior to his disappearance.
“Impersonating another student by using their National Identification Number (NIN) to open a bank account.
“Selling his phone without permission and falsely claiming that his father approved the sale.
“Borrowing ₦500,000 from an online loan platform to fund gambling ventures.
Following his confession and the findings of the Disciplinary Committee, Babcock University found him guilty of multiple offenses, including unauthorized campus exit, possession and use of fetish materials, drug peddling, impersonation, dishonesty, and unauthorized sale of personal property.
The university noted that the decision to expel Oladipupo was made in accordance with its disciplinary policy, which aims to maintain a secure and morally sound learning environment.
However, the university stated that he retains the right to appeal the decision as outlined in the student handbook.
In a twist to the story, the institution condemned what it described as “malicious and unfounded” allegations made by Oladipupo’s mother, who had previously accused the school of failing to ensure her son’s safety.
The university stated that her public claims were contradicted by her son’s admissions and suggested that she may have had prior knowledge of his actions, including the use of fetish materials.
In a conciliatory gesture, the university commended the “responsible conduct and integrity” of Oladipupo’s father and announced that it would not pursue legal action for libel against the mother.
Babcock University reiterated its commitment to transparency, discipline, and moral integrity in handling student affairs and urged parents and guardians to guide their children toward accountability and truth.
“We urge the public to disregard false information and to continue partnering with us in raising a generation of young men and women who reflect courage, truth, and responsibility.” The statement added.
