The popular Mobil junction along the Murtala Mohammed highway has been temporarily blocked as officers of the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian police are currently engaging in a free for all.
Trouble started when an official of the Nigerian army who was in mufti attacked a police officer controlling traffic along the busy junction this morning for stopping his vehicle, in the process, injuring her.
The officer who was dressed in a red t-shirt and a short and driving a black Toyota Corolla with registration number Lagos, AGL 175 HA, dealt heavy punches on the female officer leading to serious bleeding around the eye region.
Meanwhile, the said Army personnel who was at the time of the incident in company of his colleagues has taken to his heels. He was helped by some of his colleagues from the amphibious training school who were heading to their facility along Ekorinim, who on sighting their colleague had highlighted from their vehicle and after a serious disagreement with officers from the state housing police station who arrived earlier were able to escape with their colleague.
A female Army personnel had also assaulted another female police officer who attempted to take photographs of the Army officers who came to rescue their colleague.
