Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN Cross River State, Comrade Dan Obo, has advised the former governor of the state, Mr Donald Duke to campaign on issues for his candidate rather than lies against governor Ben Ayade.
Comrade Obo stated this in Calabar, the state capital during an interactive session with Youth Leaders from the Southern Senatorial District of the state.
“PDP leaders are going to our various Senatorial Districts to tell lies, we have a former governor going around and telling people that he has never heard the name Ben Ayade before, that he is not a member of the family and so does not understand the politics of Cross River.
“We know that this it is not true; as young people we should not sit here and watch people insult the office of the governor.
“Since his Excellency Donald Duke left office, he has not won any elections, go and find out and so whoever he endorses is insignificant to us as a generation, but we need him to know that we will no longer tolorate insults on the office of the governor.
“We call on security agencies as well as our traditional institutions to call his Excellency the former governor to order to avoid breach of security because as young people we will not entertain any insults on the governor any more.
“Local government joint accounts commenced under his watch and local government funds were also diverted too,” he said.
Obo urged youths in the state to go and collect their PVCs and vote for Sen. Bassey Otu for the governorship polls, stressing that the APC represents the yearning and aspiration of the youths in the state with the back to south agenda.
