Comr. Edet Okon Emerges Cross River IPAC Chairman

The state Chairman of Action People’s Congress party in Cross River State, Comr. Edet Okon Effiom has been emerged as Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) through an election process that elect new executive into IPAC today, held at the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Calabar.

The elections which had the presence of representatives from all political parties in the state and observers of the election process, was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere in accordance with the constitution of INEC.

According to the electoral organizing committee Chairman, Alhaji Saheed Abdullahi who conducted the elections after dissolving the old executive, he described IPAC as a body that is saddle with the responsibility to solidifying unity amongst political parties in the state for the development of democracy. He charged the newly elected officials to ensure they deliver promptly in their responsibilities, calling for gender sensitivity as women should also be brought in to occupy and serve in IPAC executive positions in the State.

In a media interview with our reporters, the newly elected chairman said there is beauty in continuity and because his predecessor performed excellently, his administration will focus on continuity and build on Programs that will impact positively on southern, central and northern Cross Riverians.

Also, the newly elected secretary, Mr. Fredrick Eje Omari of YPP, narrated that himself and his colleagues have served in the political space for a long time and as such are vest with the responsibilities of IPAC , which they will not derail from. He promised an all inclusive administration from him and his Colleagues as their administration will encompass all political parties in the state to ensure peaceful resolutions in electrical matters, for the achievement of good governance that will drive in political and economic development to the state.
