C’River Government Record Giant Strides In Tourism Drive, Commence Infrastructural Work On Tour Sites

The Government of Cross River State have commence intensive rehabilitation work and development of new infrastructures at the Quafalls in Akamkpa local Government area.

The Honourable commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture in Cross River State, Hon.Chief Robert Abubakar Ewa who was at Quafalls earlier today to supervise the ongoing infrastructural work, expressed the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s  passion for tourism, which is why he has employed  appropriate modalities to boost tourism drive in the state, also using it as a medium of wealth creation for Cross Riverians.

He added that as a tourism State, the Governor has mandated the ministry to start immediate development and remodelling of tour sites in the state, thereby making them tourist ready for effective tourism activities to commence in earnest.

The ongoing infrastructural work include building of new car parks, renovation of the arts and crafts gallery, building of modern toilet facilities, reconstruction of the stairs and rails from the bottom of the waterfalls to the top.

The commissioner expressed confidence on the competence of the engineers on site and their ability to deliver the job at the expected time as the ministry has chosen to celebrate this year world tourism day at the quafalls.

The commissioner embarked on the work supervision in company of the permanent secretary of the ministry- Rev.Mrs Eme Affia, the director of tourism- Mr. Dan Akeke, a tourism consultant – Mr. Jude Pius and other staff of the ministry of tourism, arts and culture.
