The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator (Prince)  Bassey Otu has commissioned a 20-kilometer new evacuation road constructed by Lafarge Africa PLC.

The road spans from Mfamosing through Abiati, Etamkpini, and terminates at Odukpani junction.

Governor Otu during the commissioning of the new 20-kilometer evacuation road, assured the safety of road users, including customers and truck drivers, highlighted the importance of security measures and pledged to provide a safe environment for both investors and residents in the state.

He also commended Lafarge for investing in Cross River and improving road safety by diverting trucks away from town centers.

The Group Managing Director of Lafarge, Alade Akinyemi, mentioned the challenges faced during the road’s construction but emphasized its potential to improve safety, productivity, and economic growth.

Community leaders and traditional chiefs expressed gratitude for the economic benefits brought by the new road to the people and adjoining communities.
