C’River: Tourism Commissioner Charged Fire Service On Effective Service Delivery To The State

The commissioner for tourism,arts and culture, Hon.Chief. Robert Abubakar Ewa has charged the Cross River State fire service director to immediately commence effective service delivery to the state, through ensuring comprehensive operations and quick response of the fire service to emergency at all times. 

The tourism boss made the charge during a visit  to his office by the director of fire service in the state, DFS Ajom Emanuel and his operatives. the commissioner emphasized that, the services of the fire service are indispensable in every society, which is why the new director must prioritize efficacious service delivery from all fire service stations existing across the eighteen local Government areas of Cross River State.

Speaking earlier, DFS Ajom Emmanuel mentioned that the fire service and the tourism ministry have long ago maintained partnership , especially at the Obudu ranch resort where they have one of the best fire service station but station has remained inoperative for a while, enumerated the several challenges faced by the fire service and requested the intervention of Government for the revamp and re-equip of the fire stations with basic modern fire fighting equipments to enable operatives of the fire service act swiftly when ever need for their service arise.

The commissioner assured them of support from Government, reiterated that the Sen.Prince Bassey Edet Otu’s administration has a people first agenda which entails security of lives and property of the people, as such the Governor would not hesitate to facilitate the service stations for their effective operations and rendering of expedient services to Cross Riverians.

The courtesy visit on the commissioner was led by the State director, DFS Ajom Emmanuel who was accompanied by the State PRI ADFS ADAWA I.A and other officers of the Cross River State fire service.
