C’River: Tourism Commissioner Congratulates Winners Of Mr & Miss Leboku 2024, Sue For Continued Unity In Yakurr

The Honourable commissioner for Tourism, Arts and culture in Cross River State, Hon. Chief. Robert Abubakar Ewa has extended his congratulations to Mr.Mbui John Ikpi and Miss Kokolo Williams for their emergence as winners of the Mr and Miss Leboku contest 2024, that has earned them brand new cars from the Government of Cross River State 

The commissioner who efficaciously participated in the event as head of Tourism and Culture in the State also congratulated the best yam harvester of the year for the truck won by her. He established that Leboku international new yam festival which is agro based is a significant event that holds during the season of harvest and drives the cultural heritage and tourism industry of Cross River State , being an event that makes the hospitality industry, transporters, food vendors and the communication industry to boom in their businesses due to the traffic the event draws to yakurr local Government area.

The Tourism Boss sued for peace and unity amongst the yakurr people, emphasized that Leboku was created on the foundation of unity and the unity must be sustained, further called for inclusive participation of all yakurr communities in fourth coming Leboku international festivals.

The event which was coloured with cultural displays, drama, parade of royal fathers of yakurr, parade of maidens and lots more, was graced by the deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, the deputy speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, the member representing yakurr 1 State constituency, the Head of service of Cross River State and other dignitaries of the State executive council.
