The Commissioner for Environment, Cross River State, Hon. Moses Osogi has enunciated that, the lost glory of the state as the cleanest in the country with a clean, green and serene environment will be restored.

The comissioner made the disclosure to our correspondent today in Calabar, where he maintained that the ministry of Environment is the mother ministry that cares for every environmental related activities in the state.

Honourable Osogi reiterated that, the Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu’s mantra is People first which has to do with taking good care of the people, and you cannot take care of the people with a decayed environment, which is why himself and staff of his ministry needed to swing into action with directives from the Governor to ensure a clean and healthy Cross River State is achieved.

He expressed his satisfaction with Cross Riverians in their compliance to the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which is intended to awaken their consciousness about maintaining cleanliness in their homes and business premises as his ministry have embarked on the cleaning of gutters at watt market, effioette and other parts of calabar.

He encourage the indigenes and residents of the state to come out tomorrow with their cleaning tools to support the Government in cleaning the state through the Saturday general environmental sanitation exercise which is targeted at the restoration of the lost glory of Cross River State.

“With continuous compliance of residents and indegenes of the state to the environmental sanitation exercise, it will help us to restore Cross River State to a clean, green and serene state that it use to be.” He added.
