In an aura filled with exhilaration yesterday, the commissioner for Tourism,Arts and Culture, Hon.Chief Abubakar Ewa who shares his birthday with the significant Nigeria independence day, enjoyed heart warming eulogies, prayers and show of love from youth groups,women groups, his political associates and religious leaders who congregated in his calabar home to celebrate him on the occasion of his birthday.
Reeling out the achievements of the celebrant as former secretary of council, counsellor, Chairman of Council Boki LGA and several other distinctive leadership positions including his present office as commissioner for Tourism Arts and Culture Cross River State which he is still using to impact positively on lives, the Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria(NYCN) Boki chapter Comr. Douglas Ekiewa said Chief. Abubakar Ewa is a man who deserves to be celebrated for his commitment and uncommon contributions to the development of young people across the State. Further remarked that Chief.Ewa has built a generation he would live to be proud of, as every young person who has shared contact with him have testimonies of their lives being enhanced through him and are all doing well in both leadership, entrepreneurial and even government sectors.
Several other speakers poured encomiums on Hon.Chief Abubakar Ewa, described him as an iconic, humane and munificent man who has over decades intensely focused on human capacity and community building through identifying and developing talents, empowered people with jobs in the public civil service and private sectors , established businesses for people, helped to develop ideas and visions of people, paid and is still empowering people in diverse ways. added that as an astute administrator, Chief. Abubakar Ewa brings refinement to every political and administrative office he has served in, right from his days as secretary of council, ward counsellor, Local Government chairman and the present Tourism ministry where he serves as commissioner.
In a beaming expression, Chief. Abubakar Ewa offered thanks to God for another opportunity to celebrate his birthday which has brought together his family and well wishers to celebrate with him. also expressed his deep appreciation to the guests for finding him worthy to share their goodwill of coming out to celebrate with him on a special day of his, described them as a family he passionately treasure.
He preached love, transparency, togetherness , forbearance and patience to his guests, emphasized on the need for them to live their lives with maintaining good relationships that are beyond politics and should always think of opportunities to render service to humanity, support human progress, sharing of love as a family and adding value to the lives of each other irrespective of where they are coming from.
Spotlight of the event was Prayers, singing of birthday songs, testimonies on the lifestyle and achievements of the celebrant, cutting of birthday cake, entertainment, exchange of pleasantries, music and dance session, which wrapped the event with splendour.
