Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu  has commiserated with the former Senate President, Dr Abubakar  Bukola Saraki  CON, and the entire family over the death of their Matriarch, Mrs. Florence Morenike Olushola Saraki.

In a condolence message to the Waziri of Ilorin, signed by the Governor  but made public by his Chief Press Secretary, Nsa Gill, Governor Otu described late Mrs Florence as a caring, hardworking, God fearing and community leader, who brought up  her children well and  stood with her late husband, Dr Abubakar Olushola Saraki to render community services to the downtrodden in Kwara State  and other places across Nigeria.

The Governor, said his thoughts and prayers are with the former Kwara State Governor  and other members of the family, urging them to take solace in God who took her at this auspicious time when her wise counsel is needed the most.

“On behalf of the Government  and people of Cross River State, I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki and the entire family on the sad death of their mother, Mrs Florence  Morenike Olushola Saraki.

“No doubt the passage of the matriarch of the Saraki’s  family  is a  colossal loss not only to the family but to the people of Kwara and the  nation at large. Her community  leadership and services will be sorely  missed.

“May the soul of Mama Florence continues to rest in the blossom of the Lord, Amen,” the statement added.
