How Popular Calabar MC Itiat Zion Was Killed…Fad FM Management visits family.

Details have emerged how popular Efik MC and radio presenter David Ekanem aka Itiat Zion was murdered.

The Parchment had earlier broke the news of how the popular MC was hacked to death by unknown persons in Calabar.

When our reporter visited the home of the late Ekanem, it was revealed that the deceased was actually stabbed by some youths within Ikot Ansa community in Calabar.

Sources say Itiat Zion was on his way to a nearby ATM along the highway when he witnessed some youths dealing matchet blows on an aged woman who’s son was accused of theft, where he pleaded with the boys to spare the old woman since she was not the accused. According to family sources, It was at that point one of the boys stabbed him with a poisonous knife for daring to plead with them.

This paper also gathered that while Itiat Zion was on the floor bleeding profusely, the youths who were heavily armed with dangerous weapons, rebuffed every attempts to rush him to the hospital, insisting to kill whoever attempts to get close.

According to wife of the deceased, Mrs Ukpa Ekanem, when she arrived the scene, she rushed her husband to the Naval reference hospital where he was rejected for lack of bed space. He was then taken to the University of Calabar teaching hospital where he was finally confirmed dead.

While on a condolence visit to the family, CEO of FAD Media group, owners of FAD FM, Mr. Fidelis Duker, expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident. He called on security operatives in the state to ensure the culprits are brought to book.

“your husband was a very good man. I recall how committed Itiat Zion was with his program on FAD FM, even when Koko Dear was not free, Itiat Zion will always find time to be around. He never joked with his audience, he took his program very serious, drawing large listenership across the state and beyond. We will not allow his death to be in vain”

Police spokesperson, Irene Ukpo told our reporter when contacted, that they are aware of the matter, promising to get the perpetrators, “we are aware of the matter, we will get the culprits” she simply said.
