INEC Announced Results of C’River Rerun Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Sunday 4th, February,2024 announced the results of the rerun election conducted in some local Government areas of Cross River State on Saturday February, 3rd, 2024.

Recall that the elections petition tribunal had ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct rerun elections in Akamkpa/Biase federal constituency, Obanliku State constituency and yala 2 state constituency respectively.

In her declaration, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that, in Akamkpa/Biase federal constituency, APC Emil Inyang secured the highest number of votes with 15,950 votes, defeating his closest opponent Austin Aidam of PDP who secured 12,417 votes. While in Obanliku State constituency, PDP Ashakia Asha scored 10,587 and defeated his closest rival, Achunekang Sunday of the APC who scored 10,427 votes.
In yala 2 State constituency, Achandu Martins of PDP scored 9,168 votes and defeated his closest opponent Nkasi Ekwok of APC who scored 8,647 votes.
