INEC, C’River begins Ad-hoc Staff screening and Verification

By Jimmy Jackson

The Independent National Electorial Commission (INEC), Cross River State today kickstarted screening of Ad-hoc Staff for the 2023 general elections in the state.

The exercise which began at 9 am at the INEC State office, Murtala Muhammed Highway, Calabar, saw applicants in their numbers trying to write their names for the screening.

Some of the applicants who spoke with our reporter said the crowd at INEC secretariat is unbelievable, hoping they will be screened and confirmed for the exercise.

Our reporter also noticed that those who did not hitherto register for the exercise online as required by the electoral umpire were present for the screening while others who had registered and confirmed their availability did not receive any sms for the screening.

The Head of Department, Electoral Operation in the state, Mr Kenneth Agwu, in an earlier press release, stated that those who applied online as presiding and assistant presiding officers  should come for physical screening at the Local Government in Calabar Senatorial district on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Others were scheduled for the Central senatorial districts on Thursday and North Senatorial District on Friday, January 20, 2023.
