Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission in Cross River State says they are set to begin the display of voters’ register in the state for claims and objections.
Anthonia Nwobi, Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity in the state, in a statement, said that the display of the voters register is in compliance with Section 19(2) of the Electoral Act, which mandates the Commission to carry out claims and objections for a period of 14 days.
According to the statement, display of register of voters will take place from Saturday 12th - Friday 25th November, 2022, Claims and objections at Registration Area (RA) ward levels will take place from Saturday 12th to Friday 18th November, 2022, while Claims and objections at LGA Offices will take place from 19th Friday - 25th November, 2022.
“Commission therefore enjoins all stakeholders and electorates to take advantage of the display to visit any Registration Area (RA) and all INEC LGA Offices for claims and objections.” the statement added.
The commission explained further that it will give electorates the opportunity to ensure that their details such as Names, Age, Unit etc. are correctly captured.
