Despite very poor representation and long absence from the house due to bad health, Hon. Ayi is rumoured to be seeking a re-election in 2023.
But at the meeting with PDP stakeholders in Bakassi, Director General of ‘Nda Ye Emana’ Campaign Organization, Mr. Francis Etang said historically, there is always a change every 20 years and as such advised the people of Calabar, Bakassi and Akpabuyo to think about change and support Mrs. Emana Duke-Amawhe to fly the PDP ticket for the federal constituency
Lady Emana who expressed gratitude to the party leaders pleaded with them to think about change by supporting her aspiration to fly the party ticket for the federal constituency.
Describing herself as a better choice, the broadcast journalist said, she represents a new generation with effective representation. Promising to speak for her people and bring the needed dividend to the people.
“ that is why I did not request to meet only with the five man committee. I wanted to meet with everyone because, if you are not a delegate, you are an influencer, you have someone who is a delegate. My plea to you now is to rally round and support me to get the party ticket and be in the house come 2023”
Several leaders from Calabar South, Bakassi and Akpabuyo who spoke at the event held at Ikang in Bakassi LGA, expressed support for the aspiration of Lady Emana Duke, maintaining that it was necessary for the two other local government in the federal constituency to take a slot, Calabar South having occupied the seat for 20 years.
