The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/2026 season recorded two away victories with Bayelsa united beating Shooting Stars while Warri Wolves defeated Katsina United.
Bayelsa United picked a 0-1 away win against Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasimgba with
Kehinde Maleek scoring the only goal of the encounter to hand coach Monday Odigie his first win in charge of the Yenagoa-based side.
Warri Wolves also secured the vital away win with a 76th-minute goal from Igbunnu Evwierhurhoma over Katsina United at the Muhammadu Dikko stadium, Katsina, marking their perfect start after returning to top flight from the Nigerian National League (NNL)
Meanwhile, The league opener on Friday between the defending champions, Remo Stars of Ikenne ended in a 1-1 draw against Rivers United at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.
Matchday 1 will conclude on Wednesday, August 27, with Niger Tornadoes scheduled to take on Nasarawa United in Minna.
