Sixteen Club Owners were absent in Abuja on Wednesday for the draws of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League abridged season.
Alloy Chukwuemeka, Secretary, Club Owners Association, said that only four clubs attended the ceremony, while the 16 others boycotted the event.
The IMC with the support of the Nigeria Football Federation has proposed an abridged league, while the club owners are agitating for a normal season, which they said will terminate in July, as against the May that the abridged league will end.
According to the proposal of the IMC, a Super Six play-offs of the top three teams from each group will be played to determine the eventual champions of the season, while the winners will earn a sum of N100m, just as each club will receive a N10m take-off grant before the start of the season.
IMC chairman, Hon Gbenga Elegbeleye, emphasised on the need for the clubs to abide by regulations guiding the league.
