Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt Hon. Dr Peter Odey, has congratulated the First Lady of the State, Rev. (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, on the occasion of her diamond jubilee celebration.

In a goodwill message conveyed through his Press Secretary, Fred Abua, the Deputy Governor expressed warm wishes to Rev. (Mrs) Eyoanwan Bassey Otu on her 60th birthday. He described her as a humble, kind-hearted, God-fearing, and exceptional woman of great character, highlighting her selfless service to humanity and the state, which has made her a cherished figure.

He further described the First Lady as a virtuous woman, a beacon for young women and a strong pillar of support to her husband, Senator  (Prince) Bassey Otu, as he steers the affairs of the state, adding that her unwavering support has significantly impacted in his achievements as Governor.

The legendary deputy governor praised her efforts in spearheading initiatives through her notable project, ‘Humanity Without Borders Initiative,’ aimed at advancing education (particularly for girls) and healthcare, advocating for women’s development, and prioritizing the welfare of the vulnerable in society, particularly women, aged children in the state.

Odey extends his wishes to Rev. Otu for good health, renewed strength, and continued success in her service to the state. He prays that God blesses her new age, continues to uphold and shine His face upon her, and sustains her for His glory and the benefit of humanity.
