The Cross River State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Moses Osogi has inaugurated the Management of Agencies under his auspices.

The Commissioner, administered the oath of office and that of allegiance Thursday, to managements of Waste Management Agency, Urban Renewal Agency and Greater Capital City Development Authority at the  Ministry of Environment, Headquarters, Calabar.

Speaking shortly after the ceremony, Hon. Moses Osogi  who underscored the significance of the event, described it as an important milestone in the journey towards a sustainable future.

Referencing Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s determination to protect and maintain the natural resources of Cross River State, the Environment Commissioner opined that the inauguration was a testament of the Governor’s commitment in restoring the State to its famous cleanest position in Nigeria.

While assuring them of his maximum support, Hon. Osogi  tasked them to promptly address environmental issues confronting the State such as; indiscriminate waste disposal, poor urban planning, poor sanitary practices, absence of clear road map for the development, planning and infrastructure improvement amongst others.

In his vote of thanks, the General Manager, Cross River State Waste Management Agency Hon. Bassey Otudur, thanked the Governor of Cross River State, Sen Bassey Otu for deeming them fit to serve in their various capacities and assured that they will follow the footprint of the Governor by leaving indelible marks that will speak for them in years to come and pledged their unwavering support to the Commissioner of Environment.

The ceremony was witnessed by the leader of the Tenth Assembly CRSHA Hon. Francis Asuqwo, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Environment, Barr. Mrs. Rosemary Onah and top Management Staff of the Ministry.
