PDP Losses Big As APC Receives Over 800 Decampees.

Several members of the People’s Democratic Party in Odukpani, Cross River State have defected to the All Progressives Congress.

The decampees numbering over 800 said apart from the fact that they were leaving the PDP to the APC to support the candidacy of Sen. Prince Otu to enable him continue in his good works of service to the People, they were also leaving because the leadership of the PDP were no longer able to unify the party.

They made their position known during an event to commission the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Creek Town, Odukpani LGA by the APC gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

The secretariat which was donated to the party by High Chief Prof. Eyo Etim Nyong will serve as campaign office for the APC gubernatorial candidate and all other Candidates in Creek town ward 1.

Speaking at the occasion, governorship hopeful, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu who was accompanied during the visit by the APC House of Representatives candidate for Odukpani/Calabar municipality federal constituency, Ntufam Edim Inok and the State house of Assembly member and Candidate for odukpani constituency Rt.Hon Francis Asuquo expressed appreciation to the people for their support to the party and pledged to make the state one which all Cross Riverians will be proud of.

Chairman of the PDP unit coordinators forum, Mr Eyo Eyo Essien who led hundreds of other PDP members to the APC expressed their readiness to work for the emergence of the All APC Candidates and assured that several other PDP members will join the APC soon.

Similarly, former principal member in the Cross River State House of Assembly and prominent member of the opposition PDP, Hon. Fabian Okpa today defected to the APC.

The former lawmaker who defected alongside several of his supporters in Obubra also promised to work hard to ensure victory of APC in all the elections.
