Lady Emana Ambrose-Amawhe was today unveiled as the deputy governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Cross River State.
The brief ceremony took place at the party’s state headquarters along Mary Slessor road in Calabar. Governorship candidate of the PDP, Sen. Sandy Onor described the choice of Lady Emana as “an attempt to give women and youths a sense of belonging”
According to Sen. Sandy “Emana is a young and smart lady who comes along with so much of exposure and intelligence that will make the ticket all inclusive. This goes to prove our resolve as a party to carry the women along because they constitute the largest number of the entire voting population”
In her acceptance speech, Lady Emana who hails from Esuk Mbat, Ikot Edem Odo in Akpabuyo LGA area of the state, assured that her choice will be an added advantage for the PDP as she represents a critical sector of the society. “I come with a lot of value. Remember I contested the last election with a very powerful politician, someone who is an elder and a fifth term member of the house of representatives and I came out second in that election, meaning that I put up a very impressive performance. So we are hopeful that we will perform well during the election.
Emana is a veteran broadcaster, media consultant and much sought after crisis management expert in the country. Her nomination is expected to add so much value to the PDP ticket as Cross Riverians prepares for the 2023 gubernatorial election.
