PDP Wins All 21 Chairmanship Seats In Adamawa Local Government Area

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged triumphant in Adamawa State’s Saturday election, winning all 21 local government council chairmanship seats.

Furthermore, the PDP dominated the councillor seats, securing 225 wins and losing only one seat to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

This was announced on Sunday by the Chairman of Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Muhammed Umar.

The election resulted in a gender-balanced leadership, with 21 women emerging as vice chairpersons, while 21 men were elected as chairpersons, showcasing a notable parity in representation.

This development is a result of the state’s deliberate effort to promote gender mainstreaming, which led to all chairmanship candidates selecting female running mates, thereby ensuring a gender-balanced ticket in the elections.

12. YOLA SOUTH: PDP44131.
