Police arrest Agba Jalingo in Lagos, Occupy Cross River Watch Office in Calabar

The Nigeria Police Force have arrested Agba Jalingo, a publisher of CrossRiverWatch at his residence in Lagos State today after holding his wife and daughters.

Jalingo who had notified the public at about 4:00PM today, rejected to follow the security men who he said refused to give their identity and  mission.

According to an eye witness who prefer to be an anonymous, said that the security men asked for reinforcements which the Nigerian Police force did with their men on uniform explaining that they were from the force Headquarters in Abuja.

In a related development, the Police have also occupied the CrossRiverWatch office in Calabar, Cross River State. Agba Jalingo publishes CrossRiverWatch. 

The Nigerian police is yet to make official statement as at the time of filing this report. Sources within confirmed to this paper that he will be moved to Abuja by tomorrow. 

In 2019, the journalist spent 179 days in custody after he was arrested on frivolous charges on August 22 of that year. He was later discharged and acquitted of all charges.
