Ramadan: Senator Otu Identifies, breaks Fast with Muslim Community.

A frontline All Progressive Congress aspirant, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu on Tuesday day hosted the Cross River Muslim community to a break of Ramadan fast.

Senator Otu, a firm believer in religious tolerance, identified with Muslim faithfuls as they marked the end of Ramadan fast.

The sweet Prince was represented by Mr. Ubong Sam who presented his goodwill message. He congratulated the Muslims in Cross River and Nigeria at large on the successful completion of Ramadan fasting while praying that God accepts all their dealings in the holy month as acts of worship.


He admonished them to use the lessons/teachings of the Ramadan fast to remain peaceful, devoted and law-abiding citizens.

Senator Otu used the opportunity to inform the Muslim community of his aspiration to run for the office of governor of Cross River State in 2023, seeking their support and prayers.

Responding, the supreme leader of muslim community (Hausa/Fulani) in Cross River State Sarki Garba Salisu expressed gratitude over the kind gesture noting that Senator Otu has overtime proven to be an integral part of the Cross River Muslim Community.

He said Prince Otu’s involvement with the Muslim Community spans over ten years and is considered a member and stakeholder of the Muslim community. He said “as one of our own, we are fully committed to ensuring you become governor of Cross River State come 2023. The Almighty Allah will guide you and grant you victory.”

Prayers were offered for the success of the Senator Otu’s 2023 gubernatorial project by various notable muslim clerics.

The hosting had in attendance Imams, Islamic scholars and their women representatives, entrepreneurs amongst others.
