A one day workshop on effective disaster management and emergency response mechanisms in Cross River state brought together relevant stakeholders and security agencies to discuss, brainstorm and strategize on enhanced collaboration.

The workshop facilitated by the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) aimed to enhance coordination and collaboration among key stakeholders involved in disaster management and emergency response efforts in the State.

The event, which was held in Calabar on Saturday, April 13, 2024 was flagged off with a keynote address delivered by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Agbe Odey. He commended the workshop and the organizers.

“Our government, the ‘People’s First Government’, is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our citizens, and events like today play a vital role in achieving this goal. I urge each and every one of you to actively participate, engage with the discussions, and take back valuable insights that can be implemented in your respective fields”.
