Sen. Bassey Otu Emerges APC Candidate In Cross River.

Senator Bassey Otu has won the gubernatorial primary election if the All Progressives Congress in Cross River State.

Senator Otu who represented Cross River South in the 7th senate defeated Mr. Chris Agara and Sen Owan Enoh at the party primaries on Thursday held at the U.J Esuene sports stadium in Calabar

The former federal lawmaker pulled a total of 811 votes to defeat Owan Enoh who came second with assistant 86 votes and Chris Agara with 63 votes.

15 other aspirants had earlier dropped their ambition to support Sen. Otu after the APC in the state announced him as the consensus candidate of the party at a meeting in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the senator representing the southern senatorial district of the state, Sandy Onor has defeated 8 other aspirants to emerge as the PDP governorship candidate if the party. Sen. Sandy was announced winner after he scored 236 votes to defeat the senator representing southern senatorial district, Gershom Bassey who came second with 173 votes.
