A personnel of the Nigerian Airforce have shot and killed a man, Asuquo Etim Umo in Calabar.
The incident happened within the state cultural center where impounded vehicles are usually parked by enforcement agents of the popular 100 Marian boys.
The cultural center also houses the State Anti kidnapping squad of the Nigerian police, Cross River State Command.
The Parchment gathered that a team of ‘enforcement agents’ working for the state government and popularly called 100 Marian had impounded a vehicle over certain offence. The vehicle which belonged to a personnel of the Nigerian Airforce was then taken to the state cultural center where their office is located.
“The driver of the vehicle then called the owner, an Airforce personnel who came to cultural center with some armed officers. And because the tires were flattened, some argument started and while we were trying to work out things. The Airforce officer pulled out his gun and fired at Asuquo who was very vocal during the argument” an eye witness said.
Meanwhile, this paper gathered that the driver of the vehicle who called the Airforce personnel have been arrested and is currently in the custody of the Anti Kidnapping squad while the Airforce personnel is on the run. The Nigerian Airforce authorities is yet to make a statement over the unfortunate incident.
