UNICAL gets two female DVC’s

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has formally announced a second term of service for the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Prof. Angela Oyo-Ita to the University Community and the appointment of a new Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Eno Grace Nta.

The appointments were ratified by Senate members at the 231st Meeting of the University of Calabar Senate.

The Vice Chancellor lauded the former Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Michael Okom and the retained Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof Angela Oyo-Ita for the good working relationship and supportive stance, describing them as God-chosen for helping her to stabilize at the early stage of her administration.

The new Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Eno Grace Nta, said her appointment was simply a “divine providence”.

Prof. Eno Nta assured the Vice Chancellor and the University Senate of her loyalty and determination to work towards the attainment of the best interest of the management and the institution.

The outgone Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof. Okom, who is now the new Director of Alumni Relations, said he was overjoyed to work with the Vice Chancellor, describing the tenure of his service as a learning curve.
