The University of Calabar has suspended three students from the Faculty of Clinical Sciences for impersonation and identity theft through cybercrime.

The affected students are Jude Adeola,  Osuagwu Joseph Ikechukwu,  and Albert-Akwuete Charles.

The suspension as conveyed in a letter signed by the University Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka I. Icha, states that it was necessitated by the students’ misconduct, which is unacceptable and punishable by the University’s rules as enshrined in the student handbook.

The suspension takes effect from the 2023/2024 academic session and will last for one academic session.

Prior to the suspension, the Senate Students Disciplinary Committee (SSDC) had reviewed the case and recommended the suspension, which was approved by the Senate.

The Dean of Clinical Sciences, the Chief Security Officer, and other relevant sections of the University have been advised to ensure full compliance with the directive.
