The University Of Cross River State Governing Council has suspended professor Augustine Oko Angba as Vice Chancellor of the University.

The decision was made during the council 52 emergency meeting held on Monday, May 6, 2024 to allow for unhindered investigation of subvention and disbursement of salaries to Staff from 2020 to 2023 and other related issues.

In a statement by the University Registrar, Victor Ene, the governing council has appointed Prof Stephen Ncha Ochang as the acting vice Chancellor during the pendency of the suspension of Prof Augustine Angba.

This he said was to avoid a leadership vacuum in the institution.

All staff, students and the entire university community are implored to cooperate with the present leadership for continued pursuit of the institution’s goals.
