The University of Cross River State at its meeting held on Monday, March 17, 2025, has approved that all students should return to school from the indefinite break with effect from Wednesday, 19th March 2025.
In a press release signed by the registrar, Mr Victor Ene, dated March 17, 2025, states that Students should take note of the following directives:
“1. Academic Activities will resume immediately upon return. Consequently, outstanding continuous assessments will take place from Thursday, 20* March, 2025.
“2. Students are expected to attend revision lectures and complete necessary course work from Monday, 24th March 2025.
“3. Payment of outstanding school fees and registration of courses which start immediately upon return will end before commencement of examinations. Students who fail to pay up their fees and register their courses within the stipulated period will not be allowed to sit for the examinations.
“4. The ‘No Fee No Examinations’ Policy of the University is still in force.
“5. Students are advised to follow the revised Academic Calendar that will be released by the University for proper guidance on academic activities.
“6. Students are encouraged to take their studies seriously and adequately prepare for the forthcoming examinations in order to achieve academic success.
“Management appreciates the patience and understanding of all students during the period of the industrial action and remains committed to ensuring a conducive learning environment. Students, staff, and all stakeholders are enjoined to cooperate for a smooth and successful academic session.” The statement added.
Meanwhile, University of Cross River State Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) will meet today, Tuesday, 18th March, 2025 over declared indefinite strike.
The Parchment earlier reported that the Joint Action Committee (JAC), had resumes her suspended Industrial Action on 27th February, 2025, demanding for the implementation of new minimum wage and consequential salary adjustment from the management.
