The University of Cross River State management has suspended its 2024/2025 First Semester Examinations indefinitely due to industrial disputes.
In a press release signed by the registrar, Mr Victor Ene, dated January 22, 2025, states that “the decision arises from the ongoing industrial dispute by the four Labour Unions in the University – SSANU, NASU, NAAT, and ASUU – which has made it impossible to proceed with the Examinations as scheduled.
“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause to our esteemed Students and other Stakeholders. Please, be assured that Management is making every effort to resolve the issues with all parties involved to restore normalcy.
“The Examinations will be rescheduled in due course, and an updated timetable will be communicated as soon as the situation permits. We appeal to all Staff, Students, and Stakeholders for their understanding, patience, and cooperation during this period.
“Management is committed to ensuring that examinations resume as soon as possible and urges everyone to remain calm and supportive of the ongoing dialogue aimed at resolving the dispute amicably.” The statement added.
