Updated: Nigerian Army Arrest Personnel Who Kill Youth In Calabar South

The army personnel who shot and killed a youth in Calabar south has been arrested and ia currently in detention.

The suspect was arrested by a detachment of the forces’ military police after The Parchment’s report yesterday. Highly placed sources within the military told our reporter.

According to Captain D. Aluko, who replaces Captain Ochenta as the new Army spokesperson in the state. “Investigation is still ongoing and we promise to let the press know at the right time”

But investigation by our reporters revealed that the personnel who shot and killed the deceased identified simply as Greg was arrested yesterday and is cooling off in the army detention facility in Calabar.

The deceased was alleged to have had a minor relationship disagreement with another youth over a young lady, when the suspect deployed to guard the premises of the Nigerian Correctional Center was invited by the other youth (yet to be identified), this led to the shooting and killing of Greg.

Youths of the area who were infuriated by the killing made attempts to attack the Army personnels at the Correctional Center but were stopped by elders of community.
